ABOUT PROFESSOR ANDREW HARRISON

Director Beauluxe Research Center of Excellence

Andrew R. Harrison, MD, is a professor with tenure at the University of Minnesota Medical School and a specialist in periocular rejuvenation, oculoplastic surgery, and orbital assessment.

Dr. Harrison holds Professor with Tenure appointments in both the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences and the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He also serves as Director of the Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery Fellowship and has held leadership roles in clinical affairs, surgical services, risk management, and quality improvement. These roles support his positioning not only as a procedural specialist, but as a physician involved in training, clinical standards, safety systems, and specialist-level judgment.

His professional record includes board certification and recertification by the American Board of Ophthalmology, ASOPRS membership and fellowship preceptor status, membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society, and the International Thyroid Eye Disease Study Group, as well as ORBIS volunteer and Cybersight mentor experience. His academic record includes approximately 110 publications and approximately 2,103 citations, with research covering thyroid eye disease, blepharospasm, orbital disease, lacrimal surgery, ptosis, periocular reconstruction, and risk-related topics.

At Beauluxe, Dr. Harrison represents a professor-led approach to periocular rejuvenation assessment. His role is especially relevant for patients concerned with eye bags, lower eyelid laxity, upper eyelid heaviness, brow-related fatigue, ptosis, ocular surface sensitivity, prior eye-area treatments, or concerns about looking unnatural after treatment. His approach is not to begin with a procedure list, but to first determine what can be safely improved, what should be preserved, and where caution is required.
